Tarvin Precision is a family-run precision engineering company based in Hawarden, specialising in low-volume, high-variety CNC machining and assembly. As an AS9100-certified manufacturer, quality, attention to detail and consistent working practices are central to what we do.
CNC Setter / Operator – Permanent
Full-time | Permanent | 37.5 hours per week
£16.50–£19.00 per hour, depending on experience | Potential for overtime
We are looking for a skilled CNC Setter / Operator to join our manufacturing team, with opportunities for candidates experienced with CNC lathes, CNC mills or both.

Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating CNC machines
- Maintaining CNC machines
- Producing precision components to tight tolerances
- Working across low-volume, high-variety machined parts
- Inspecting components using standard inspection tools
- Editing and setting CNC programs
Skills & Experience
Requirements will depend on whether your experience is primarily in turning, milling or both.
For CNC lathe applicants:
- CNC lathe experience is essential
- FANUC control experience is essential
For CNC milling applicants:
- CNC milling experience is essential
- Heidenhain and/or Siemens control experience is desirable
- HAAS control experience will also be considered
- Experience with other CNC control systems is also welcome
All applicants should have:
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- General workshop familiarity
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Understanding of safe working procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Good attention to detail
Please also tell us about any relevant procedural or quality-system experience, including Lean, AS9100 or similar manufacturing environments.

Basic Wired Assembly – Temporary
Full-time | Temporary 6-Month Contract | 37.5 hours per week
£13.50–£15.50 per hour, depending on experience | Potential for overtime
We are looking for a diligent, engineering-minded individual to assist in our assembly department on a temporary basis.
The role involves supporting customer orders requiring small mechanical assembly, soldering and basic wiring.
Responsibilities
- Basic wiring
- Soldering
- Small engineering assembly
- Keeping the work area tidy and organised
- Maintaining safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with experience or familiarity in:
- Wiring and soldering
- Small engineering assembly
- Working safely within a mixed manufacturing and assembly environment
- Basic computer literacy, including Excel and Word
- Maintaining good quality and organisational standards
